About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Program Director of Mind Fit, this position provides assistance in implementing and coordinating services offered through the Mind Fit Academic Enhancement Program, the mission of which is to support WVU students through 1:1 Academic Coaching and support.

What You'll Do Application Management
  • Utilize Mind Fit record keeping system to input information and keep record of applications, contracts, invoices and forms for both clients and coaches.
  • Assist with client intake meetings.
  • Assist with interviews for open positions.
  • Assist Program Director with onboarding process including new student applications, forms, contracts and invoices and distribute welcome packets.
  • Assist Program Director with the onboarding process of new student worker hires as needed.
Supervision and Training
  • Collaborate and assist with client and coach matching and session scheduling.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Mind Fit to plan, develop and facilitate training for Mind Fit student workers, coaches and GAs.
  • Assist with facilitating interviews and intake meetings.
  • Assist with supervision of GAs, student workers and placement students.
Outreach and Recruitment
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment for Mind Fit including but not limited to tabling events, e‑mail, social media, presentations etc.
  • Provide information to prospective students, coaches and families.
Program Evaluation and Retention
  • Monitor, conduct and assist with writing session reports, student evaluations, progress reporting, contracts and any other record keeping or data collection.
  • Assist Director with monitoring and inputting data into the electronic record system for ASP students, student workers and peer mentors.
Student Support Services
  • Plan, develop and facilitate academic success workshops based on best practices in cognitive and educational psychology.
  • Create supplemental resources for Mind Fit programming including 1:1 coaching sessions, small group support and workshops.
  • Offer referrals as needed including but not limited to OSA Specialist, CARE Team, Carruth Center, Student Health, WV DRS, Career Services etc.
  • Provide 1:1 coaching for students.
  • Provide 1:1 consultation for coaches.
Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology, Education, Social Work or related human service field.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to proficiently conduct, document, and evaluate academic and executive functioning support services with a college‑aged population.
  • Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to provide multicultural sensitive services.
  • Ability to utilize electronic record system.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills required to develop and maintain policies, procedures, and clinical delivery systems.
  • Team player to work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary unit.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience involving work with a college age population.
