The PLC Facilitator/Team Leader/Department Leader serves as a teacher leader who supports the continuous improvement of teaching and learning through collaborative leadership, data-informed decision making, and professional learning. This position is responsible for guiding Professional Learning Community (PLC) processes, facilitating collaboration among teachers, and supporting school and district initiatives that improve teacher effectiveness and student achievement. The successful candidate will model instructional excellence, foster a collaborative culture, and maintain a relentless focus on student success.

Candidates should normally have:

  • Three (3) or more years of successful classroom teaching experience.
  • An Accomplished rating or higher on their educator evaluation, when applicable.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with colleagues to improve student achievement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading PLCs, grade-level teams, or department teams.
  • Experience delivering professional development to adult learners.
  • Knowledge of MTSS, formative assessment practices, and data-driven instruction.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate productive meetings and collaborative problem-solving.
The PLC Facilitator/Team Leader/Department Leader will:
  • Facilitate and lead Professional Learning Community meetings.
  • Identify and prioritize essential standards and learning targets.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of common formative assessments.
  • Analyze student achievement and assessment data to guide instructional decisions.
  • Monitor progress toward student learning goals and instructional targets.
  • Support the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), including interventions and enrichment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to address achievement gaps and improve student outcomes.
  • Promote instructional practices that support college and career readiness.
  • Review curriculum resources and instructional materials to ensure alignment with standards and district goals.
  • Provide job-embedded professional development and instructional support to colleagues.
  • Facilitate collaborative planning, reflection, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Support district, school, and department improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and support teachers as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, and stakeholders regarding instructional priorities and student achievement.
Teacher leaders acknowledge and actively participate in:
  • PLC facilitation and follow-up activities.

Teacher leaders are expected to serve as positive role models who promote collaboration, professionalism, accountability, and a growth mindset while maintaining a strong focus on improving teacher effectiveness and student outcomes.

SALARY:
County supplement of $1,000
