• Valid West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate .
• Certification in Elementary Education, Educational Leadership and/or Reading Specialist. Reading Specialist certification/endorsement isstronglypreferredduetotheposition's responsibilities related to literacy instruction, the Science of Reading, intervention, and implementation of the Third Grade Success Act.
• Valid West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate .
• Minimumoffiveyearsofsuccessfulteachingexperience.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the Science of Readingandevidence-based literacy practices.
• LETRS and/or Heggerty credentialing preferred, or demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing structured,evidence-based literacy practices.
• Demonstrates knowledge of effective numeracy instruction and evidence-based mathematics practices.
• Demonstratesknowledgeofthe West Virginia Third Grade Success  Actandassociated instructional, intervention,assessment,and student-support requirements.
• Demonstrates knowledge and experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), including TierI instruction,intervention,progress monitoring,and data-based decision-making.
• Exhibitsresearchandevaluationskillsnecessary toconductneedsassessments,analyze student achievement data, monitor student progress,and evaluate program effectiveness.

The Coordinator of Academic Programs and Instructional Support will work under the direction and supportofthe

Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instru collaboration with district andschoolleadership,the Coordinatorwillshare responsibility for coordinating,implementing, monitoring, andevaluatingacademicprogramsandinstructional supports designed tomeettheneedsofstudents, schools, andthe

Wyoming County School System .

The Coordinator willworkcollaborativelywithdistrict andschoolleaders, teachers, interventionists, andother instructional personnel to strengthen Tier Iinstruction,implement evidence-based interventions, support continuous school improvement,and improve student outcomes.

• Provide direct supervision andinstructionalleadership forgrades1-4,supportingtheimplementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction, intervention, and student achievement within these grade levels.
  • Work collaboratively with
    
    Central Office staff, school administrators, teachers, interventionists,andotherinstructionalpersonneltosupporthigh-qualityteachingand learning.
  • Assistschoolsintheprogressiveandongoingprocessesofschoolimprovement,needs assessment, program evaluation, and accountability.
  • Support the implementation of the West Virginia Third Grade Success Act, including monitoring instructional supports,interventions, student progress,data collection,and coordination of summer planning.
  • SupporttheimplementationofMTSS for academics,with an emphasis on effective Tier I instruction,evidence-based interventions, progress monitoring, and data-informed instructional decision-making.
  • Coordinate andfacilitateprofessional learning for teachers, administrators, interventionists,andotherinstructionalpersonnelin literacy, numeracy, intervention, assessment,and evidence-basedinstructionalpractices.
  • Support district and school implementation of the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy practices.
