GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Department of Biology seeks applications for a part-time faculty member to teach courses in Biology and Health Sciences. Some of the course offerings may include but are not limited to, Introduction to Biology, Genetics, Anatomy and Physiology, the topics of human health, or topics in an applicant's area of expertise. The instructor must have a background in the requested course that is needed.
DETAILEDSTATEMENT OF
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver instruction appropriate to the topic, course description, agreed-upon learning outcomes, academic level and student audience.
- Submit syllabi, grades and other reports on time.
- Communicate effectively with students and faculty in the department.
- Provide assistance to students by appointment.
QUALIFICATION:
- Experience commensurate with course topics.
- Master's degree or higher in a related field.
- Doctorate preferred
- Previous teaching experience at the college level is strongly preferred.
This is a part-time, temporary position with the MSCA union. This position is for one semester with the opportunity for renewal.
Salary for this position is $1,166-$2,549 per credit. Pay is based on number of semesters previously taught at MCLA.
