CAD Technician

Job Description

RDR Utility Services Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced AutoCAD Technician to join our team in the fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our welding operations.

• Create and draw ISO’s from customers’ drawing package and also hand-drawn ISO’s in AutoCAD.
• Assist with checking in materials as they arrive.
• Check heat numbers match MTR.
• Check grade to match what was ordered.
• Check size and wall thickness to what was ordered.
• Verify heat numbers for any discrepancies from the ISO’s to MTR.
• Record x‑ray numbers.
• Scan and file MTRs, JSAs, x‑ray reports, torque reports and field ISO’s.
• Create hydro‑test packages.

• Must be proficient in AutoCAD in an oil and gas setting.
• Must be well organized.
• Knowledge of MTRs, pipe grades and sizes.
• Excellent computer skills with programs such as MS Office, Blue‑Beam and other construction-related software.
• Must have good communication skills and be able to work closely with company-provided inspection.
• Must have a good positive attitude and show up for work every day and on time.
