Job Description
About the Role
The Dev Ops Engineer (Mid) is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment processes that support reliable and rapid software delivery. This role bridges development and operations, ensuring that code moves efficiently from development through testing to production environments.
The Dev Ops Engineer collaborates closely with software developers, QA teams, and system administrators to automate workflows, improve system reliability, and enforce infrastructure best practices. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across cloud platforms, scripting languages, and containerized environments.
You Will
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, Git Hub Actions, or Azure Dev Ops.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Build and manage containerized environments using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS.
• Monitor system health, application performance, and infrastructure metrics using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.
• Implement and maintain logging, alerting, and incident response processes to ensure high availability and rapid issue resolution.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing, code quality scans, and security checks into deployment pipelines.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, networking, storage, and IAM configurations.
• Write and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, Power Shell) to automate routine operational tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents as needed.
• Document infrastructure configurations, runbooks, and standard operating procedures. Desired Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in Dev Ops, site reliability engineering (SRE), or systems administration roles.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, Git Hub Actions, or Azure Dev Ops).
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible).
• Working knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, or Power Shell).
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or ELK).
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, DNS, load balancing, and firewall configuration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Dev Ops Engineer, CKA, Azure Dev Ops Engineer Expert) are a plus.
• Experience in government or DoD environments is desirable.
Security Clearance
• Active TS (willing to get CI Poly)
