Position: Stepdown Unit Nurse (RN) in Clarksburg, WV
Deliver advanced patient care in a vital stepdown/medical-surgical setting in the Clarksburg, WV area. This 13-week contract position is designed for registered nurses with solid stepdown experience who are adept at managing complex patients with respiratory issues, chest pain, and acute kidney injury, among others. You will work in a 20-bed unit that maintains careful nurse-to-patient ratios (Stepdown 1:3; Floor 1:5-6) to deliver exceptional care supported by a team of respiratory therapists and monitor techs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and titrate IV drips, including heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone.
• Interpret cardiac telemetry strips with critical decision-making to optimize patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for patients exhibiting acute symptoms.
• Act as charge nurse or house supervisor as needed.
• Participate in unit-specific orientation to fully integrate into clinical protocols and culture.

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Current and unrestricted RN license.
• Experience in stepdown and medical-surgical nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Proven competency with respiratory equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts with a weekend rotation (3 weekends per 4 weeks) and holiday rotations between evenings and days.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license for a 50-mile radius.

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts, with a rotating schedule that includes 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks.
• Holiday coverage rotation with day or evening shifts.
• No call or standby requirements; no floating outside the unit.
