Salary Range: $8,443 – $11,932

Provide on‑site nursing care within a secure correctional medical unit. Deliver clinical services, preventive care, and health education to a diverse inmate population.

• Assess patients and develop individualized care plans in accordance with ODOC policies and evidence‑based standards.
• Administer medications, perform laboratory and medical procedures, and manage post‑operative and end‑of‑life care.
• Coordinate on‑site and community‑based services to achieve optimal health outcomes.
• Educate patients and non‑medical staff regarding health practices and self‑care.
• Maintain accurate, legible, and complete documentation of all care activities.
• Manage nursing staff activities, supervise day‑to‑day operations, and ensure proper supply inventory and narcotic counting.

• Valid Oregon Registered Professional Nurse’s license at time of appointment.
• Preference for unencumbered license.
• Experience or training in a specialized nursing area may be required.

• Professional principles, practices, and theory of nursing practice.
• Laws, rules, and regulations governing nursing practice.
• Medical terminology, pharmacology management, and medical ethics.
• Counseling and intervention techniques, disease processes, and treatment methods.

• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Available for any shift over 7 days a week, including swing, graveyard, day, weekends.
• Contact with adults in custody who may become violent.
• Occasional mandatory double shifts.
• Walking or standing for extended periods, climbing stairs, heavy lifting.
• Exposure to chemicals, radiation, communicable diseases, and other hazards.
• Occasional local or in‑state travel for training or meetings.

• Pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint‑based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
• Some felony convictions may disqualify, but a criminal record does not automatically exclude candidates.
• Security clearance is required at conditional job offer.
