Overview
The West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility seeks compassionate Registered Nurses to join the long-term care team. As an RN in a long-term care setting, your duties focus on managing chronic conditions and providing continuous care. You will conduct regular health assessments, monitor vital signs, and observe residents for changes in their medical or cognitive status.
Key Responsibilities- Direction and supervision of all resident care, including administering and documenting resident care, medication, and treatments per physician's order.
- Provide instruction and supervision of licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants.
- Promptly report changes in residents' condition to the physician and take follow‑up action as necessary.
- Follow facility admission procedures and communicate resident admissions to other departments.
- Take appropriate action to assure adequate staffing to meet resident needs.
- Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate emergency care.
ASN or BSN from an accredited college or university and 1 year of full‑time or equivalent part‑time paid experience as a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse.
Special requirement:
Current West Virginia registered nurse license.
This is a full‑time (40 hours per week) position with day and night shifts available. Must have flexibility to cover shifts as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure continuous, safe staffing levels.
