Research Analyst Assistant Team Lead
ISN is seeking a Research Analyst Assistant Team Lead, who will be assigned to a client site in Winchester, VA or Clarksburg, WV. As a Research Analyst Assistant Team Lead, you will assist a federal agency in conducting investigation case information and preparing relevant reports based on information gleaned using your critical and analytical skills. Your skills will be used to author reports that federal agencies can use to determine an applicant’s worthiness for employment, access to federal facilities, and immigration benefit.
Ultimately, you will be supporting programs within the United States and its defense against foreign and domestic threats to our nation’s security.
- Assist the Team Lead in managing and coordinating the activities of the team, providing support to ensure efficient workflow and task allocation.
- Review non-reportable information requests submitted by team members, ensuring that they meet necessary quality standards before submission to the Team Lead for final review.
- Respond to inquiries and questions from team members, providing guidance and clarification to resolve issues quickly and effectively, thus freeing up the Team Lead’s time for higher-level tasks.
- Support the mentoring and development of team members by addressing routine queries and reinforcing best practices and analytical methodologies.
- Collaborate with the Team Lead to assess workload distribution and assist in balancing tasks across the team to meet deadlines and organizational goals.
- Ensure that the team’s work complies with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies, particularly regarding data protection and security protocols.
- When capacity permits, may assist the Team Lead in performing routine vetting requests, as required by the position of a Research Analyst.
- Experience with derogatory information assessments, background checks, and vetting processes. Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-volume workloads while maintaining high standards of performance and adherence to timelines.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide, coach, and develop junior Research Analysts.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies or errors in research findings and report packages.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback for team members.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex information to both team members and management.
- Problem solving skills to address and resolve issues in research findings, processes, or team performance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive or classified information in accordance with applicable security regulations and policies.
- Be responsible for all project activities, both administrative and programmatic.
- Work independently under direction or in a team to collect, analyze, and present data from structured research and evaluation activities.
- Provide technical guidance in the completion of contract deliverables.
- Monitor metric and quality performance of Research Analysts for contract deliverables.
- Ensure the policies set forth in the various Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed.
- Contribute to Monthly status reports for the COR and/or CO under the guidance of the PM and/or DPM.
- Understand and have experience in doing the responsibilities of a Research Analyst.
- Bachelor’s Degree or three (3) or more years of experience with knowledge of administrative principles, practices, and techniques.
- Proficient computer skills, proficiency in navigating Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Google Chrome.
- Experience in reviewing and validating the work of junior Research Analysts, ensuring the quality and accuracy of reports, findings, and conclusions.
