As a Correctional Officer you will maintain order and safety within the institution by enforcing rules and regulations, providing model behavior, and supporting rehabilitation of adults in custody. Duties include cell checks, contraband searches, dispute resolution, discipline enforcement, observation and reporting of safety, sanitary, and fire hazards, and supervising work assignments.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 21 years of age or older.
• United States citizen.
• Meet DPSST Physical Standards.
• Reading comprehension, report writing, and retention abilities.
• Successful completion of an ODOC background investigation.

• Must pass the NTN test with a minimum score of 70% in all areas.
• Good employee work history.
• History of law‑abiding behavior.
• Pass a psychological evaluation and risk assessment as required by HB 2936.
• No evidence of substance abuse.
• Proficient in computer use.
• Valid driver’s license.
• All applicants and employees are subject to drug testing.

• Undergo a background investigation, including a CJIS fingerprint check.
• Complete an electronic Statement of Personal History (eSOPH) within 14 days of notification.
• If selected, receive a conditional offer and complete a pre‑employment medical exam and psychological evaluation.
• Final background investigation and confirmation of CJIS eligibility.
