Software Engineer - Mid Level

Description

We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer with a web application development background and exposure to full-stack capabilities (front‑end, back‑end, full‑stack) to design, build, test and maintain scalable software systems. This role will play a part in creating front‑end and backend services, developing APIs, and collaborating with the development team to deliver reliable, high‑performance applications. The ideal candidate has experience in web applications, cloud‑native architectures, testing, and modern CI/CD practices and tools, and is comfortable contributing across the full stack when needed.

Duties include computer programming, documenting, managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks in the software release life cycle, resulting in a software product.

• Expertise in one or more programming languages is required.
• Works to achieve day‑to‑day objectives with moderate impact on the area/project team; works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments and may assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments.
• Communicates with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources, etc.) and explains technical solutions, practices and procedures to others within the organization.

• Typically requires a BS degree and 2–4 years of prior relevant experience, or a Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Must hold an active Secret security clearance.
• Expertise in front‑end web application development in one or more programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Spring Boot) is required.
• Knowledge of working with relational databases (Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Agile project management software such as Jira, Confluence, etc.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and system scalability.

• Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices interfaces.
• Experience with automated testing (end‑to‑end testing, regression testing, integration testing, etc.), Spring Boot, Hibernate, Hibernate using native queries, and CI/CD pipelines such as Git Lab.
• Knowledge of infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) tools (Hashi Corp Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible).
• Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Watch, Elastic Search).
