Overview
Directs activities of Community Service Workers engaged in clean up, cutting limbs, trimming bushes, picking up debris, and other assignments. Supervises Community Service Workers during clean‑up activities assigned by the Municipal Court. Maintains work schedules and time records and turns them into the Municipal Court Clerk’s Office, reporting absent workers as required.

- Maintain work schedules, time records, and submit them to the Municipal Court Clerk’s Office.
- Report workers who do not show up for work to the Municipal Court Clerk.
- Plan, organize, and implement assigned work programs.
- Maintain a written log of work completed and material usage.
- Maintain harmonious working relationships with the workers.
- Perform medium to heavy work requiring frequent stooping/bending with exposure to dust, wetness, or dampness.
- Maintain department equipment, supplies, and facilities.
- Maintain contact with the general public, City officials, and employees in performance of duties.
- Perform some duties in the Court Clerk’s Office.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain by hire, a valid state driver’s license without suspension or revocation.
- Must not have been convicted of any felony or disqualifying serious misdemeanors, nor possess any other disqualifying criminal history.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be of good moral character and temperament, and possess industrious habits.
- Must have an excellent attendance record as per the regular hours of business, scheduled overtime, and call‑outs.
- Must be able to progressively assume all duties through the six‑month probationary period.
- Must have knowledge and basic computer operation skills, ability to read, analyze, and interpret records, respond to inquiries, present information to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners and to public groups, and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, reach with hands and arms, and drive a vehicle.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, crawl, kneel, or crouch.
- Occasionally lift and/or move objects of twenty (20) pounds or more.
- Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus vision abilities.
The duties are performed indoors and outdoors. The employee may be required to work in outside weather conditions, exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, or extreme heat; near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud acoustic vibrations. The position is subject to stressful situations and demands, responding to emergencies, working more than forty (40) hours per week, and attending night meetings may be required.
Occasional travel will be required to various departments within the City to relay information, attend hearings, seminars, and conferences. The work environment requires a constant flow of information exchange, telephone inquiries, and personnel visits from other department heads and employees.
Determine and implement the appropriate course of action in emergency or stressful situations; develop and maintain effective working relationships with other employees; work independently; prepare concise narratives and statistical reports, and evaluations using appropriate word processing and spreadsheet technology.
