FLSA Status:Exempt

Terms of Employment
:1.0 FTE, 7.5 Hours per Day, 180

Days per Year

- Per Bargaining Agreement;
Placement on Clarkston School District Certificated Salary Schedule based on education and experience; $60,262-$109,266.

This is a standard position description to be used for certificated positions with similar duties, responsibilities, classification and compensation. The psychologist assigned to the position description may or may not be assigned all of the duties identified herein.

POSITION SUMMARY
:

The school psychologists work to support the success of students academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community for all students.

Identifies and assesses the learning, development, and adjustment characteristics and needs of individuals and groups, as well as the environmental factors that affect learning and adjustment. Provides interventions to students to support the teaching process and to maximize learning and adjustment. Assists in the planning, development, and evaluation of programs to meet identified learning and adjustment needs. Delivers a planned and coordinated program of psychological services.

Duties are performed in accordance with standards of professional practice, district/state board of education policies and procedures and state law regarding psychology practice.

Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student’s readiness to learn, including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare. Employee may work in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team settings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Incumbents must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population
  • Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) School Psychologist certificate
  • Master’s degree in school psychology from an accredited school of psychology
  • Licensed in the State of Washington as a psychologist
  • Ability to understand procedures and function in a school system with regard to the special part health services play in the overall education of the student
  • Prior experience in public health or public school is desirable
  • Ability to work cooperatively with students and their parents, district staff, and community members who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse
  • Ability to effectively communicate with parents, students, and staff verbally and in writing
  • Commitment to collaboration and teaming and effectiveness in working within a professional learning community
