Position OverviewThe Weld Trainer will partner in the supervision, leadership, training and recruitment of the Weld Department, focusing on teaching and guiding individuals in production welding for Thunder Jet Operations. Responsibilities include creating and implementing comprehensive welding training programs, teaching MIG and TIG welding, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with welding procedures.
Essential Functions- Develop and deliver comprehensive welding training programs, teaching MIG and TIG processes and reading work orders.
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures related to welding equipment, materials, and work environment.
- Increase quality and efficiency through continuous improvement processes.
- Ensure compliance with ASTM or AWS weld standards and identify risks and hazards in all training programs.
- Conduct inspections and testing to maintain adherence to quality standards.
- Adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and provide constructive guidance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of training activities.

Required Qualifications- Several years of welding experience in aluminum welding.
- Ability to follow established weld techniques and execute them consistently.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Self‑starter, team player with strong safety awareness.
- Effective communication skills and ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learners.
- Excellent attendance record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in math (fractions), reading, and measurement.
- Regular work at heights on platforms, lifting parts and pieces up to 50 lbs., traveling up and down stairs, and performing awkward positions such as squatting and bending for long periods.
- Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and odors daily.
- Physical exertion required – standing, bending, twisting for a 10‑hour shift; may work in non‑air‑conditioned areas.
- Vision protection and steel‑toed shoes required; hearing protection required.
Pay range starts at $25.50 per hour; actual base pay varies by experience, qualifications, and location. The position offers an annual discretionary bonus and is eligible for Brunswick’s comprehensive benefits program.
