Clinical Nurse Educator

This position is a 0.80 FTE / 32 hours per week / 8 hours per day

Job Summary:

Are you passionate about teaching the skills that empower nurses to deliver exceptional patient care?

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) role is integral to the success of Tri State Health; participating in the onboarding and orientation of new staff, providing training and continuing education, updating policies and procedures, and working with hospital leadership to develop and meet strategic organizational goals. Duties include evaluation of evidence that supports clinical practice, implementing changes in the delivery of safe patient care, ensuring staff competency, and prioritizing organizational education needs.

In addition to sharing Clinical Educator Generalist duties, this role is responsible for overseeing and teaching critical care and other specialties components of the education program.

Job Qualifications:

Education and Training:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, bachelor's degree or higher preferred.

Licensures/

Certifications:

  • Current Washington State RN license.
  • Current American Heart Associations; BLS/CPR.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years current nursing experience in an Acute Care Med/Surg setting, required.
  • Leadership experience, preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Personal attributes to include ownership of actions, organized, open-minded, effective communicator and ability to adapt.
  • Skills to include strong basic nursing and the ability to coach and guide staff striving towards excellence in patient care.
  • Other skills to include electronic medical record documentation, Word and Excel experience.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours to accommodate staff.
