Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital specializing in Medical Surgical/Progressive Care Unit. The ideal candidate should be flexible and willing to work across various departments as needed. An active Washington State RN license is required.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and address the educational needs of patients and their significant others, utilizing appropriate educational modalities.
• Implement patient safety measures, including the correct use of side rails, restraints, and equipment safety.
• Demonstrate knowledge of equipment operation in the PCU, Telemetry, and Med Surg areas, including troubleshooting and repair procedures.
• Adhere to infection control and isolation procedures, ensuring proper documentation.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of patient statuses, interventions, and responses during shifts.
• Accurately process physician orders in a timely manner, including conducting a 24-hour order check if applicable.
• Provide clear and concise change of shift reports to oncoming staff.
• Effectively communicate with other departments and report critical lab values promptly to physicians as per policy.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts and general supplies as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Active Washington State RN License
• Experience in Medical Surgical and Progressive Care settings
• Strong patient care and safety protocol knowledge
