Fence Laborer​/Apprentice Installer

Valley Fence is a locally owned fencing contractor serving the Lewiston–Clarkston Valley and surrounding communities. Our team specializes in residential, commercial, and agricultural fence installation with a focus on quality craftsmanship, reliability, and strong customer relationships. Valley Fence is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Fence Laborer/Apprentice Installer. This position supports all aspects of fence installation while learning the trade from the ground up.

This is a hands-on role that includes physically demanding work such as material handling, digging, and site preparation, along with training in measuring, layout, and fence construction. If you’re someone who shows up ready to work, takes direction well, and wants to build real skills, this is a strong opportunity.

• Assist with all phases of fence installation
• Carry materials, stage tools, and support assembly
• Dig post holes using hand tools or power augers
• Assist with setting posts and mixing concrete
• Learn measuring, layout, and leveling techniques
• Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles daily
• Follow direction from installers and foreman while building independence over time
• Support crew productivity and minimize downtime

• No prior fencing experience required
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Reliable attendance — shows up on time and ready to work
• Ability to take direction and improve quickly
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
• Construction or general labor experience is a plus

• Valid driver's license (must be insurable)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs regularly
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain)
• Ability to perform physical tasks throughout the day
