Geriatric Behavioral Health Registered Nurse
Senior Care/Geropsych Behavioral Health RN needed. Shifts are nights, 3x12 hours. Weekend availability is required. Local candidates may apply. 2 years of experience is required. Quick offer and ASAP start date available. Skills in managing anxiety, depression, and psychotic disorders are essential. Experience in crisis intervention and behavior management techniques is needed. Knowledge of medication administration and understanding lab values is important.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a geriatric inpatient setting. Experience with various psychiatric medications, including mood stabilizers and antipsychotics, is necessary. Ability to utilize de-escalation techniques and manage assaultive behavior is required. Familiarity with patient ratios of 6:1 is expected for days and nights. Understand the importance of interdisciplinary support, including therapy and social services. Candidates will care for a daily census of approximately 12 patients in a locked unit.
