Omega Foundation Services, Inc is looking for Pipe Layer(s) to join the team!

Pipe Layer

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Pipe Layer / Utility Laborer to join our construction team. This position will assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utility systems, including water, sewer, storm drainage, and related infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, following directions, working safely around heavy equipment and open excavations, and working as part of a crew.

Assist with the installation of underground water, sewer, storm drain, and utility piping.

Prepare trenches and pipe beds for proper pipe installation.

Assist pipe layers with setting, aligning, joining, and securing pipe.

Use hand tools and basic equipment to perform construction and utility work.

Assist with excavation, back filling, compaction, and site cleanup.

Check pipe grades, elevations, alignment, and slopes as directed.

Assist with manholes, catch basins, valves, fittings, and other utility structures.

Safely work around excavators, loaders, trenching equipment, dump trucks, and other heavy machinery.

Direct equipment operators and communicate with crew members when working around excavations and utilities.

Identify and protect existing underground utilities.

Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials and equipment.

Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and job-site procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent.

Qualifications

Previous construction, utility, or pipe-laying experience preferred.

Experience with underground utilities is a plus.

Ability to work safely in and around trenches and heavy equipment.

Ability to lift and carry construction materials and tools.

Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions.

Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.

Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and willingness to learn.

Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform physically demanding construction work for extended periods.

Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work in confined or uneven areas.

Ability to lift and carry materials weighing approximately 50 pounds or more.

Ability to work around loud equipment, dust, dirt, mud, and changing weather conditions.

Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety vest, work boots, gloves, and eye protection.

Safety Responsibilities

Safety is a critical part of this position. Employees are expected to:

Follow all company and job-site safety procedures.

Use required PPE at all times.

Never enter an excavation unless it has been properly evaluated and protected according to applicable safety requirements.

Maintain awareness of equipment, traffic, utilities, and other hazards.

Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or incidents to the supervisor.
