Accounting Clerk

LHH is partnering with our long-time transportation client in their search for a qualified Accounting Clerk to add to their team. Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager this position is responsible for accounts payable duties. Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity with financial and personal information. • Process invoices through Integration Manager to Great Plains to prepare payments.
• Verify invoice accuracy, proper coding, and approval prior to payment
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Prepare and process weekly or bi-weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
• Maintain organized and accurate AP files and documentation
• Communicate professionally with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding invoice status and payment inquiries
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements
• Support accounting team with special projects and reporting as needed
• Provide front lobby relief for the receptionist as needed.

• Minimum of one year experience in accounting or training and/or education may be substituted.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to navigate through Synergize Web Explorer, Integration Manager and Great Plains.
• Experience with TMW, Great Plains and/or other comparable programs specific to the transportation industry.
• Ability to make payments via web sites and phone for credit card payments.
