Miller Pipeline is hiring a Meter Technician to connect and disconnect meters, read electric, gas, water, or steam consumption meters and record volume used by residential and commercial consumers.
Responsibilities- Receive service orders on a daily basis from the utility office.
- Connect and disconnect meters.
- Perform read-outs or read-ins.
- Walk or drive a truck over an established route and take readings of meter dials.
- Inspect meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections.
- Indicate irregularities on forms for necessary action by servicing department.
- Verify readings to locate abnormal consumption and record reasons for fluctuations.
- Assist utility employees in rerouting when necessary.
- Return route book to business office for billing purposes.
- Responsible for ensuring that company vehicles and equipment receive the proper care and maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 months related experience or training.
- Current Driver's License and clean driving record.
- 1+ year gas construction experience.
