Senior Tax Accountant
Our growth has resulted in the need for a senior tax accountant in our Clarksville office.
- Meet with and interview clients to gather information for preparing tax returns.
- Using Lacerte tax preparation software, prepare tax returns based upon the information obtained. Preparation and review of tax returns including state and federal individual, partnership, corporation and S corporation returns. Prepare other types of returns when necessary.
- Meet with clients for tax planning needs outside of tax season. Prepare various tax planning scenarios based on assumptions.
- Research tax matters and tax planning opportunities throughout the year.
- Review monthly and/or quarterly financial statements.
- Review bookkeeping issues with clients.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required and EA or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum four years of experience preparing individual, partnership, corporation and S corporation tax returns.
- Experience with Windows based systems, tax preparation software, Quick Books, and Excel required.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of individual and business taxation, federal and state tax laws.
- Knowledge in tax planning.
- Highly motivated individual.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team.
Our growth has resulted in the need for a client accounting services team member in our Clarksville office.
- Perform data entry duties for a variety of transactions
- Prepare journal entries
- Perform month-end reviews and reconcile accounts against bank and credit card statements
- Prepare federal and state payroll reports
- Prepare forms W2 and 1099
- Prepare sales tax reports and other various reports such as business tax, corporate and LLC annual reports, tangible personal property schedules, and contractor license renewals
- Assist clients with Quick Books and other bookkeeping issues
- Work effectively with clients and other team members to deliver quality accounting services in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with special projects and tax return preparation
- Three to five years bookkeeping experience required; tax preparation experience a plus.
- Experience with Windows based systems, Quick Books, and spreadsheet software required.
- Conduct financial and compliance audits, reviews and compilations from start to finish, either independently or cooperatively with other staff members
- Prepare tax returns for businesses, organizations and individuals
- Maintain working knowledge of current accounting principles, auditing standards, tax regulations, and other important technical matters
- Communicate effectively with clients and other staff members to accomplish client and firm goals
- Demonstrate high professional and personal standards that reflect positively on the individual, the firm and the profession
- Minimum of Bachelor degree in accounting
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Three or more years of financial audit or relevant accounting or tax experience
- Experience using Windows-based operating systems and Microsoft software including, but not limited to, Word and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- A positive "can do" attitude with clients and other staff members
