Pay Grade: 70, Non-Exempt
Starting hourly rate: $21.14
Minimum of four (4) years of professional event planning experience, including coordinating logistics, vendors, timelines, and on-site execution. Would prefer experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational and time management skills.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Certifications, Licenses:
Must have dependable transportation.
A pre-employment criminal background check is required.
First Aid/CPR Certification within six (6) months of hire.

GENERAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are normal for this position.

Provides customer service to internal and external customers; addresses and resolves customer questions as able and refers complex inquiries, requests, or complaints to appropriate staff.
Assists with set-up and break-down for events.
Lead comprehensive project management efforts for all assigned events, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, risk mitigation, and post-event evaluation.
Serve as the primary project liaison for internal initiatives, ensuring clear communication, stakeholder alignment, and timely completion of deliverables.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure event objectives and organizational goals are achieved.
This position carries a high level of responsibility. Errors in planning, communication, or execution may result in significant operational disruption, financial loss, reputational impact, or diminished stakeholder confidence.
Plans, implements, and/or supervises various recreation activities, and special events for youth, adults, and families. Tracks and evaluates events through performance measures, statistics, and evaluations.
Assists in implementing event marketing plans. Develops and maintains a comprehensive outreach program to attract potential event participants.
Assists with researching grant opportunities as well as writing applications and conducting necessary reporting. Assists with finding and retaining sponsor ships and donors for events.
Communicates with registrants as needed and addresses customer service issues both electronically and in person.
Assists with administrative responsibilities of the department as needed.
Documents logistical details and communicates information to internal event support staff.
Monitors facilities, volunteers, activities, equipment, and supplies during events; identifies and resolves issues; ensures the safety of guests and staff.
Solicits and monitors vendors; reviews vendor operations and performance.
Occasionally shows some department rental spaces.
Other duties as assigned.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee is responsible for assisting with sponsor ships, grant writing, and vendor management.
COUNTY ORGANIZATION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Represents the Department to other County departments, elected officials, outside agencies, customers, County residents and visitors.
Provides quality customer service to individuals needing directions or assistance.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS:
Works under general supervision of the Events Manager. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
