Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $49/hr and $0.72 per mile for gas reimbursement while traveling between sites.

Per Diem:
No per diem

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency:
Weekly

Schedule:

Monday-Friday | 40-50 Hours Per Week | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Join an underground utilities contractor supporting the construction of a major data center project in Knoxville, TN. This role offers the opportunity to oversee safety activities involving excavation, trenching, underground utility installation, heavy equipment operations, and daily civil construction work on a high-profile project.

This position also offers the potential to transition into a full-time W2 role upon successful project completion, with future opportunities to support projects based out of the company's Knoxville office and a company vehicle provided.

Required Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Trenching and excavation safety experience required
  • Data center construction experience
  • Underground utilities experience (water, sewer, storm, electrical, or telecommunications)
  • Heavy civil construction experience
  • Competent Person - Excavation & Trenching
  • CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential
What You'll Be Doing
  • Oversee daily safety activities for underground utility construction operations
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Monitor excavation, trenching, and underground utility installation activities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA excavation standards and project safety requirements
  • Monitor heavy equipment operations, material handling, and contractor activities
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Deliver new hire orientations and ongoing safety coaching
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), excavation permits, and pre-task plans
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Partner with project supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the project
