About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Managers to lead the preconstruction, planning, and execution of large-scale data center projects at multiple locations throughout the United States. This position will have responsibility for the commercial, financial, scheduling, procurement, and preconstruction activities associated with the electrical construction scope and will play a key role in transitioning the project from preconstruction into field execution.

These are on-site project-based positions requiring the Project Manager to work at the assigned data center construction site. Per diem is available for eligible employees.

Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning and preconstruction activities for the assigned electrical construction scope from early development through mobilization and execution.
  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, responsibility matrices, and client requirements to identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain the overall project execution strategy, including scope, schedule, budget, staffing, procurement, logistics, and project controls.
  • Coordinate estimating activities, including electrical takeoffs, labor assumptions, subcontractor and vendor pricing, general conditions, BIM/VDC, prefabrication, temporary requirements, and other project-specific costs.
  • Support proposal development, scope clarification, pricing revisions, commercial negotiations, and contract development.
  • Maintain accountability for project cost, budget, forecasting, cash flow, billing, and overall financial performance.
  • Establish and maintain the project's cost structure, including schedule of values, WBS, cost codes, labor hours, resource loading, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage contract requirements, scope changes, change orders, commercial risks, and supporting cost documentation.
  • Develop and maintain project risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to cost, schedule, labor, procurement, design, and execution.
  • Lead development and review of the electrical construction schedule, including sequencing, critical path, design releases, procurement activities, resource requirements, and interfaces with other trades.
  • Identify schedule risks and develop recovery or mitigation strategies with project leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage procurement strategies for electrical equipment, materials, subcontractors, and long-lead items.
  • Coordinate vendor and subcontractor selection, bid leveling, scope alignment, pricing, lead times, and delivery requirements.
  • Ensure procurement activities remain aligned with design releases, construction milestones, funding requirements, and the overall project schedule.
  • Develop the project staffing and manpower strategy, including project organization, key personnel requirements, direct and indirect labor planning, anticipated manpower loading, and coordination with construction and field leadership.
  • Develop work packaging strategies that integrate estimating, scheduling, BIM/VDC, prefabrication, kitting, procurement, material management, and field execution.
  • Establish work packages that clearly define scope, schedule, labor requirements, materials, deliverables, and execution requirements.
  • Lead constructability reviews to identify installation challenges, design conflicts, sequencing concerns, scope gaps, and opportunities to improve project execution.
  • Identify and develop value-engineering opportunities that reduce cost, improve constructability, accelerate schedule, or improve overall project performance.
  • Coordinate BIM/VDC and design-assist activities to support constructability, clash resolution, prefabrication, shop drawings, work packaging, layout, and construction milestones.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the client, GC/CM, design team, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Lead recurring project and preconstruction meetings addressing scope, cost, schedule, design, procurement, constructability, and execution.
  • Coordinate RFIs, design changes, technical decisions, and design releases and evaluate their impact on cost, schedule, procurement, and construction.
