Location:

Southern Indiana at the Clarksville Excel Center. Salary: $50‑$60K, inclusive of full benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Build relationships, systems, and programs to ensure each student graduates with a realistic career plan linked to postsecondary employment and education.
  • Provide direct advising and case management services as students near graduation.
  • Implement a comprehensive foundational career‑development program, advising students on academic diploma tracks and enrollment in industry‑recognized certification courses or dual‑credit courses.
  • Develop and maintain an industry‑based network of community partners and collaborate with local college and university staff, departments, and enrollment protocols.
  • Assist students in navigating postsecondary pathways, including career and college placement, and support them in accessing skills, resources, and assistance.
  • Facilitate the student path from enrollment through graduation, ensuring successful transition into work or college, and follow up with graduates/alumni to sustain success.
  • Create and maintain relationships with community partners, certification providers, and employers to meet student needs.
  • Strategically implement programming to expose students to workplace experiences to increase interest using internal and external resources.
  • Refer students to internal partners and track employment/work‑based learning opportunities.
  • Implement programming to expose students to college experiences to increase interest.
  • Connect and enroll students into dual‑credits and/or certification opportunities aligned with their post‑secondary plans.
  • Facilitate the graduation capstone course, adapting it to meet the needs of all students based on readiness, interests, and special populations.
  • Identify and track relevant student/school data and staff performance to set improvement and achievement goals, driving future evaluation and feedback.
  • Partner with various administrative teams and instructors to conduct interventions with systems, staff, and students.
  • Develop personal professional/performance goals and action plans, reflecting on prior goals and making adjustments.
  • Work with the school director to develop and implement school‑wide goals around graduation outcomes, enrollment needs, student achievement, and retention.
  • Assist staff with professional development, training, and goal setting to maintain a high‑performance culture for staff and students.
  • Participate in student recruitment, enrollment, and outreach efforts.
Required Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human relations, rehabilitation counseling, or related fields.
  • Experience in a secondary or higher education setting, and/or in career counseling and workforce development.
  • Knowledge of the financial aid process, college admissions process, and various scholarships, internships, and certifications.
  • Working knowledge of G Suite, MS Office, and student information systems.
  • Excellent communication skills – articulate thoughts and ideas effectively orally, in writing, visually, and non‑verbally, with strong listening skills.
  • Informed decision‑making – identify issues, compare data, develop solutions, and take actions consistent with facts and constraints.
  • Teamwork – collaborate well with others, contribute positively in team settings, and promote a productive learning environment.

  • Program management skills – develop, organize, monitor, and evaluate career‑pathway development programs, including writing policies and procedures aligned with post‑secondary plans.
  • Building collaborative relationships – develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with community resources, employers, state agencies, and others.
  • Established professional network of community resources, employers, Indiana State agencies, and others.
