Full-time
We are looking for a Environmental Sr. Specialist to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, procedures, activities, and staff of the Environmental Unit within the EHS Team. To effectively lead and support technical and behavioral compliance with all environmental related regulations and drive activities for a safe and environmentally sound workplace. To remain up to date with EHS related laws and regulations, communicate timely with the workforce and support modification of company documents and/or practices to ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state and local laws.
ResponsibilitiesAir Permitting & Compliance
- Managing all air permits (Title V or Synthetic Minor) including permit applications, renewals, and modifications
- Calculating emissions, PTE, and maintaining emission inventories
- Conducting monthly/quarterly/annual compliance monitoring and record keeping
- Maintaining SWPPP and ensuring BMP implementation
- Conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual stormwater inspections
- Performing benchmark sampling and submitting DMRs
- Managing corrective actions for exceedances
- Managing wastewater sampling, monitoring, and reporting
- Ensuring compliance with discharge limits and pretreatment requirements
- Maintaining permits, logs, and corrective actions
- Coordinating with municipal or state regulators
- Managing industrial waste, scrap, and recycling programs
- Ensuring proper labeling, storage, and accumulation area compliance
- Coordinating timely waste/scrap pickups to maintain clean operations
- Training employees on waste segregation and handling
- Conducting routine waste area inspections
- Maintaining SDS library and chemical inventory
- Reviewing and approving new chemicals
- Ensuring proper storage, labeling, and hazard communication
- Supporting process safety and chemical compatibility reviews
- Maintaining SPCC plan and conducting required inspections
- Leading spill response and root cause investigations
- Training employees on spill response procedures
- Ensuring secondary containment and proper storage of oils/chemicals
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Education:
- (Required) bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or equivalent experience in environmental compliance, air permitting, stormwater/wastewater management, or hazardous materials management may be considered in lieu of degree specialization with a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- (Preferred) certifications such as CPESC, RCRA, DOT Hazmat, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, CHMM, and SPCC
Experience:
- (Required) 2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience including ISO 14001 and experience with TDEC air, stormwater, and wastewater permits
- (Preferred) experience with hazardous waste and industrial waste management
- (Preferred) previous experience in the tire manufacturing industry
Language:
- (Required) good command of written and spoken English

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
