Systems Engineer

About the RoleWork at the forefront of satellite and RF communications research and development, delivering and demonstrating capabilities to our customer base. Our projects cover the spectrum of communications technologies, hardware architecture, and operating systems; if it runs over a communications network, we’re interested in increasing its capability, demonstrating this to customers, and supporting our customer’s mission.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate satellite and RF capabilities to the customer base.
- Validate software that secures and operates systems across the spectrum of tactical communications to strategic level.
- Provide technical expertise for audio and video server applications, new equipment integration, and develop best practices.
- Mentor military and government personnel on tactics, techniques, and procedures for SATCOM, RF, and MANET systems.
- Assist in development of Concepts of Operations for communications systems and equipment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Software testing experience (functional, integration, system testing).
- Test automation framework development and maintenance.
- Debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
- Ability to write and execute detailed test plans.
- Documentation skills for test cases, bug reports, and test results.
- Mentor and advise senior military and government personnel on TTPs for SATCOM, RF, and MANET systems.
- Assist in development and implementation of CONOPs.
- Performance and load testing.
- Security testing concepts and tools.
- Knowledge of OS internals (Linux and/or Windows).
- DOD System Security Engineering and standards (RMF, Cyber Resiliency, Anti‑Tamper).
- Virtualization technologies (QEMU, KVM, VMWare, Virtual Box, Hyper‑V).
- Experience validating technical documentation as part of the release process.
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
- Experience with the Team Awareness Kit suite (ATAK, WinTAK, iTAK).
- Retired or former Special Operations soldier with 5 years U.S. military experience in a similar capacity.
- Recent combat experience.
- Experience with technical information collection equipment.
- Web‑based application experience (Microsoft Office, Windows, mapping software).
- Travel independently for periods of time without supervision.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration.
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other technical products.
- Time‑management skills and ability to establish reasonable deadlines.
- Physical ability to carry a 35‑pound load without assistance.
- CONUS and OCONUS travel required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to interact effectively with management, customers, and employees.
Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years engineering/technical experience.
STEM degree preferred, minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience.
