Compensation is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience.
This is an onsite position with shift options available, including 2nd shift and 3rd shift schedules.
This position is located onsite in Memphis, TN.
Job Summary
The Repair Technician performs advanced board-level repair and rework on complex electronic assemblies used in enterprise server and data center equipment. This role focuses on component replacement, failure repair, and ensuring product functionality through precise rework and repair processes.
Principal Accountabilities- Perform advanced board-level failure repair on complex PCBA assemblies.
- Repair debugged assemblies containing high value SMT placement components including memory (DDR4/DDR5) and power management devices.
- Execute precision SMT component replacement and rework using industry-standard rework stations, X-ray inspection systems, and controlled thermal profiling.
- Perform component-level repairs on assemblies containing workmanship or technical defects.
- Develop and validate custom repair fixtures and repair methodologies for complex server boards.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis related to repair work and document corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed repair logs including failure modes, corrective actions, and yield tracking data.
- Ensure strict compliance with ESD procedures and handling requirements for high-value electronic components.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to improve repair processes and reduce repeat failures.
- Support process development activities to expand advanced repair capabilities.
- Operate electronic test equipment and conduct validation tests following repair.
- Provide feedback to engineering teams on recurring failure patterns and repair improvements.
- 5+ years of board-level repair experience on enterprise servers, storage, or networking hardware.
- Hands-on experience with SMT rework and BGA component replacement including large body and fine-pitch devices.
- Strong understanding of power architecture including VRMs, multiphase regulators, and power sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and PCB layout files.
- Experience working in high-value component repair environments with strict quality controls.
