Position Overview:

This entry-level Coordinator supports day-to-day operations of ocean and air import/export shipments for the CJ Logistics America Freight Forwarding team. Based at the Clarksville, Tennessee site, the role handles booking, documentation preparation, shipment tracking, and communication with overseas partners, customers, and internal teams. Leveraging Korean‑English bilingual skills, the Coordinator serves as a bridge between Korea headquarters, overseas offices, and U.S. local operations.

This role offers opportunities to learn and grow across all areas of freight forwarding operations.

Essential

Job Duties & Responsibilities Communication
  • Communicate in Korean and English with headquarters, partner offices, carriers, customs brokers, trucking companies, and customers, conveying shipment‑related information accurately.
  • Share operational notices (arrival notices, delivery orders) timely, and update customers and internal teams on shipment status.
Operations & Technical
  • Arrange bookings for ocean and air import/export shipments with carriers, airlines, and co-loaders.
  • Enter shipment information accurately into the freight forwarding system (e.g., Cargo Wise) and internal systems, updating milestones.
  • Track and trace shipment location and report any delays or exceptions immediately.
Documentation & Administrative
  • Prepare, review, and process shipping documents including Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists.
  • Support timely preparation and submission of U.S. Customs filings such as ISF (10+2), AMS, and AES.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure clearance documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Support preparation of invoicing and cost reconciliation materials, and maintain related files and records.
Compliance & Other
  • Comply with U.S. and international import/export regulations, company policies, and SOPs.
  • Model CJ’s guiding principles and core values.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or higher; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, international trade, business, or a related field preferred.
  • 0–2 years of experience in freight forwarding / logistics (entry‑level applicants welcome).
  • Korean‑English bilingual required—reading, writing, and speaking proficiency sufficient to perform the job.
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics / supply chain management / international trade / business.
  • Experience using freight forwarding / TMS systems such as Cargo Wise.
  • Basic knowledge of Incoterms, HS Codes, and U.S. Customs (CBP) regulations.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. customs and international trade (customs valuation, classification, compliance/audit, trade programs).
  • Internship or related hands‑on experience in freight forwarding / logistics.
  • Aware of or trained in dangerous goods (DG) / HAZMAT Class 9 (e.g., battery cargo).
  • Good working knowledge of domestic and international geography.
Physical Requirements
Warehouse Role
  • Stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
  • Climb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds at various heights.
  • Reach with hands and arms overhead and below waist level.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; occasionally heavier items.
  • Use fine motor skills to operate equipment, tools, or keyboards.
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to handle objects.
  • See clearly at close range and distance, with peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Hear and understand verbal instructions, alarms, and equipment signals in a noisy environment.
Office/Sedentary Role
  • Sit for prolonged periods at a desk while working on a computer.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
  • Speak and hear clearly in person, virtually, and over the phone.
