Job Title: MRO Purchasing Specialist
Department: Corporate Management Team
Shift: Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Direct Report: General Affairs & Procurement Unit Manager

About the position

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Specialist to conduct ongoing business with established MRO providers. Execute the PR/PO process for spare (MRO) parts and supplies. Oversee the operation of MRO spare parts inventory, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Perform on-off purchases with appropriate approvals.

Responsibilities are:
  • Purchasing vendor management and purchasing process control
  • Manage the PR/PO process for spare (MRO) parts and budgeted supplies and consumables
  • Reviews vendor quotes and bids for accuracy and competitive strategies
  • Ensure consigned MRO inventories are verified and invoiced
  • Direct operators and assigns tasks to ensure operation of MRO receiving and warehouse
  • Issues purchase orders and make necessary changes to existing orders to meet actual needs
  • Ensure MRO inventory system data is monitored and maintained
  • Reports on cycle count activity and results
  • Can provide report of expected and actual spending related to monthly operating budgets
  • Complies with & supports the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements are:

Education:

  • (Required) bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in purchasing and inventory control
  • (Preferred) business administration major or advanced degree in a related field

Experience:

  • (Required) several years of relevant experience
  • (Preferred) previous experience in the manufacturing industry

Language:

  • (Required) good command of written and spoken English

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Administration and Management
    - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Management of Material Resources
    - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work
  • Customer and Personal Service
    - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Clerical
    - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
  • Critical Thinking
    - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Reading Comprehension
    - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
  • Active Listening
    - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Monitoring
    - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
  • Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
