SR Manufacturing Engineer

SHIFT:

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, occasional work outside of these hours

The SR Manufacturing Engineer will plan and direct production activities to achieve effective operations and cost factors. A high floor presence is required along with collaboration with quality, maintenance, manufacturing engineers, supervisors, line leaders, and production employees.

• Design and develop processes for factory projects and equipment implementation.
• Designing and managing manufacturing processes, plant layouts, and assembly lines
• Improve productivity, quality, equipment performance, energy consumption, and downtime reduction.
• Provide technical/subject matter expertise and guidance for the resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems.
• Secure and allocate resources (e.g. personnel and materials) in an efficient way and maintain a supportive working environment
• Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.
• Conducting root cause analysis and troubleshooting production issues
• Specify internal rules of operation under his/her control
• Supervise production operations, ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient, cost-effective and safe.
• Implementing process improvements, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies, to reduce waste and increase efficiency
• Conduct daily checks on the Unit; approve overtime work as needed
• Develop, Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff
• Reports on current issues in the Unit
• Assess and analyze quality risks in order to mitigate them
• Prepare for audits and quality inspections
• Separate defective products; report to the immediate superior in case of product or process nonconformity
• Improve productivity, quality, equipment performance, energy consumption, and downtime reduction.
• Uphold manufacturing standards including: machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, routings and cycle times.
• Partner with on-site EHS to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in production management software and tools.
• Knowledge of quality control, process optimization, and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.

• Bachelor's degree preferred:
  Manufacturing, Industrial, Materials, or Chemical Engineering preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience required; 5 - 8 years of managerial experience preferred; previous experience in the manufacturing industry desired
• Excellent command of written and spoken English

• This position works in a manufacturing setting. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• This position may work with hazardous materials where personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary and specific procedures must be followed to adhere to safety regulations.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to access and navigate the production facility several times per shift.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
