Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a key member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, collaborating closely with physicians and other care providers to manage a distinct patient population in the inpatient acute care setting. Working with hospitalized patients, the APP provides specialized care and supports the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based medical services. The APP is accountable for timely and compliant documentation and actively participates in professional development and competency validation to maintain high standards of care.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document health history; perform complete, system‑focused, or symptom‑specific physical examinations, assessments, and care plans.
  • Provide primary, acute, and complex care of patients, managing overall care and identifying expected outcomes for diagnoses.
  • Order, perform, interpret, and collect data using appropriate assessment techniques, diagnostics, and procedures.
  • Form differential diagnoses and treat acute and chronic conditions.
  • Prescribe therapeutic interventions, including pharmacologic, non‑pharmacologic, and surgical treatments.
  • Utilize evidence‑based practice protocols in planning and implementing care.
  • Initiate appropriate referrals and consultations.
  • Provide specialty‑specific consultation services within scope of practice.
  • Facilitate patient transition between and within health‑care settings, including admission, transfer, and discharge.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner – FNP (ENP preferred) with emergency medicine provider experience.
  • Certified Physician Assistant with at least one year of emergency medicine provider experience.
  • Provider experience outside of emergency medicine (e.g., ICU, CV) is considered.
Certifications & Licenses
  • LIC – Licensed Nurse Practitioner, Tennessee.
  • LIC – Physician's Assistant Certified, Tennessee.
  • LIC – Registered Nurse, Tennessee.
Education & Experience

Master’s degree. Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
