Job Summary

Provides nursing care to clients in crisis in the Walk‑In Center and Crisis Stabilization Unit. Provides medication monitoring, adjusts medications within limits prescribed by authorized prescriber. Provides information, education, and support to individuals in crisis that promote wellness and recovery.

• Performs nursing assessments on individuals being admitted to the WIC/CSU.
• Monitors vitals, performs lab testing, and evaluates medical appropriateness for admission and continued stay.
• Obtains and enters orders into EMR from authorized prescriber.
• Administers and gives medications to patients, monitors dosage, side effects, use, and documents reactions.
• Provides medication training to the guest or guest’s family/guardian to administer medication, monitor proper dosage levels and watch for side effects.
• Develops and maintains the Treatment Plan of Care for guests.
• Oversees the administering of nursing needs of guests.
• Acts as liaison between guest and authorized prescriber, pharmacist, family, and/or collateral support systems.
• Coordinates guest‑staff assignment of care and provides shift change report.
• Observes guests on a day‑to‑day basis and provides documentation in the EMR.
• Provides group or individual education as needed.
• Participates and/or leads staff meetings and training as scheduled or necessary.

• Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
• Perform basic electronic medical record computer skills.
• Detail oriented with effective problem‑solving skills.
• Possesses leadership skills.
• Knowledge base in psychotropic medications.
• Skill in crisis intervention.
• Ability to de‑escalate patient/clients using evidence‑based de‑escalation training (e.g. Therapeutic Options) to include safety holds as necessary.

• Minimum of Associates Nursing Degree from an accredited school or a Waiver approved LPN by State of TN. RN Preferred.
• One year of behavioral health nursing experience preferred.
• Licensure required. Valid driver’s license required.

Pay Range: $29.63–$41.54
