Job Overview

VCH Med/Surg Night Shift RN – Responsible for administering and directing nursing interventions as prescribed by qualified physicians or mid‑level practitioners. Works nights (6:45p.m. – 6:45a.m.) in a full‑time capacity at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

• Perform initial nursing assessment and communicate findings to the assigned physician or mid‑level practitioner.
• Assess wound stage and measurements, document care plans, and evaluate patient status relative to desired outcomes.
• Identify patient care situations that require intervention.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, provide patient and caregiver education, and serve as patient advocate.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director, and the Medical Director regarding patient needs.
• Perform other duties as required.

• License:
  Registered Nurse (LIC) – must hold current RN licensure.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience on a medical/surgical unit.
• Education:
  
  Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program.
• Additional:
  Certified in wound care or other specialty preferred.
