Anesthesiology

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist administers general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical and obstetrical procedures. Performs anesthesia-related procedures under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist. Evaluates patients preoperatively and, with the attending anesthesiologist, formulates and carries out an anesthesia care plan including monitoring and recording patient reaction to anesthesia and modifying the plan as needed. Safely transports patients to and from the anesthetizing location and ensures appropriate care during the postoperative period.

Supervises, instructs, and counsels student nurse anesthetists to ensure patient safety. Interacts with staff and patients with respect and consideration for the individual.

Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital, Department of Anesthesia is accepting applications for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for opportunities arising from rapid growth. Licensed CRNAs or students in the final 9–12 months of a Nurse Anesthetist program are encouraged to apply online. We will review resumes and keep you informed along the way.

• Diverse and Challenging Cases:
  The more than 300 CRNAs provide anesthesia for a wide range of surgeries including cardiac, pediatric, vascular, trauma, neurosurgery, plastics, radiologic, and special procedures. CRNAs administer general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic procedures.

• Graduate of an accredited/approved CRNA program
• New Graduates accepted during final semester

• TN Registered Nurse and CRNA certification
• Consideration may be given to candidates who can obtain license/certification within 90 days, in accordance with state guidelines.
