Kitchen Assistant Manager – The City Forum

As the Kitchen Assistant Manager at The City Forum, you’ll lead the kitchen team through high-energy service with precision, positivity, and purpose. You’ll keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, from food prep and cleanliness to team motivation and inventory control. This is your chance to lead by example in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment where food quality and team culture take center stage.
WhatYou’ll Need to Bring
- 1+ year of experience in a kitchen leadership or supervisory role in a Scratch Kitchen, High Volume Restaurant
- Knowledge of food safety, inventory management, and kitchen operations
- Confidence with POS systems, ordering platforms, and scheduling tools
- A valid ABC card (or ability to get one)
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
- Problem-solving skills and a cool head under pressure
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Accountability, adaptability, and a growth mindset
- Physical ability to stand, lift, bend, and hustle in a dynamic kitchen setting
- Lead, coach, and motivate FOH/ BOH team members during your shift
- Oversee food prep, sanitation, and execution to meet quality standards
- Assign tasks, monitor workflow, and support team productivity
- Ensure BOH/FOH communication is clear and smooth
- Manage inventory and place orders to avoid shortages or waste
- Enforce safety and health standards in compliance with regulations
- Partner with leadership on scheduling, cost control, and team development
- Train new hires and deliver feedback when performance falls short
- Complete shift reports and pass along operational updates
- Guests receive fresh, timely, and consistently great food
- Food and labor costs stay on target, with minimal waste
- The kitchen is clean, compliant, and fully operational

Reports To: Multi-Unit Kitchen Manager
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Supervises: 10+ Kitchen Team Members
Pay Range: $17.00 – $20.00/hour (based on experience)
Type: Full-Time | Varied Schedule | Nights, Weekends & Holidays Required (Closed Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas)
