DESCRIPTION
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Gas Measurement Technician I:
Incumbents perform skilled work in the testing, repair, and operations of the Gas Distribution system. Responsibilities may include inspecting, installing, and repairing gas meters and regulators; responding to customer complaints; creating and/or completing various work orders utilizing Enquesta and/or Servicelink software; checking odorant levels; maintaining a supply of tools and equipment; programming meter reading devices testing and site maintenance; enforcing safety rules and federal regulations;
maintaining records of work performed and equipment tested.
Gas Measurement Technician II:
Incumbents perform skilled work in the testing, repair, and operation of the Gas Distribution system. Responsibilities may include inspecting, installing, testing, and repairing gas meters and regulators; responding to customer complaints; creating and/or completing various work orders utilizing Enquesta and/or Servicelink software; checking odorant levels; programming meter reading devices testing and site maintenance; enforcing safety rules and federal regulations; and maintaining records of work performed and equipment tested.

- Minimum Education and Training
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of utility maintenance and construction experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the job's essential duties.
- Possession of a valid Class D Driver's License.
- Position requires various Natural Gas Operator Qualifications deemed pertinent to the position.
- Minimum Education and Training
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Gas Measurement Technician I.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the job's essential duties.
- Possession of a valid Class D driver's license.
- Position requires various Natural Gas Operator Qualifications deemed pertinent to the position.
- Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
- Natural gas and other various safety principles and practices.
- City geography.
- Record keeping principles.
- Computers and related software applications.
- Utilizing and maintaining applicable tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Reading and applying reports, procedures, policies, and manuals.
- Providing customer service.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Prioritizing work.
- Applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Using a computer and related software applications.
- Preparing operational reports and records.
- Monitoring and maintaining inventory.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with subordinates, coworkers, supervisors, the public, etc.…
