The Foreman 1 works out of Stansell Electric’s Nashville office, assisting in all aspects of supervising and coordinating assigned crew(s) and subordinate supervision in all aspects of installation, alteration, demolition, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, conductors, assemblies, and associated materials and equipment on all types of projects within the electrical construction industry. The Foreman 1 must show mechanical aptitude, mathematical skills, and literacy skills commensurate to satisfactorily completing the position’s primary duties and responsibilities.

• Meet or exceed project schedules, productivity standards, and monetary budgets.
• Maintain expertise in all trade‑related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, trade‑related calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation, and troubleshooting.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment necessary to perform all trade tasks.
• Effectively communicate and interface with peers, crew, project supervision, and general contractor.
• Coordinate work and activities with the Project Manager, General Contractor, customer, and other trades.
• Forecast and order manpower, material, tool, and equipment needs well in advance.
• Proceed with work via written and verbal instructions, plans, drawings, or specifications.
• Directly responsible for the supervision and management of all employees and supervision within jurisdiction.
• Lay out and schedule work for subordinate supervision, lead persons, and crew as needed.
• Fulfill administrative requirements and documentation in a timely manner, including time sheets, labor coding, daily logs, material and tool requisitions, man‑loading schedules, and reports (incident/injury, employee notifications, etc.).
• Monitor labor productivity and quality control; direct subordinate supervision and crews to meet project schedules and production quotas.
• Coordinate and manage equipment rentals.
• Identify, schedule, and facilitate all needed inspections.
• Prepare detailed drawings for job as needed.
• Instruct assigned employees in correct operation of tools and equipment, safe work practices, electrical principles, and applicable NEC.
• Evaluate employees under supervision.
• Perform disciplinary actions, procedures, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.
• Perform EEW procedures up to 480 volts.
• Perform metering and testing up to 480 volts.
• Utilize NEC codebook as needed.
• Comprehend, abide by, and enforce Stansell Electric customer policies, procedures, and safety guidelines; document and report all violations.
• Attend all Foreman meetings.
• May be called upon to perform the duties of JW1 through FR1.
• Work with tools alongside crew when required or as directed.
• Perform other project-related duties and assignments as instructed by supervision.
