The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, labor management and planning of inbound, outbound, product slotting and customer communication activities on a daily basis. Duties include labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower planning, hiring and training, performance appraisals, and problem resolution. The Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager and ensures that receiving, warehousing and shipping of products are conducted in accordance with company service and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct staff meetings to review daily and weekly work activities and drive continuous improvement.
- Communicate critical operational issues to senior management and client representatives.
- Develop and enforce systems and procedures for safe and profitable management of equipment and products, meeting productivity and service goals.
- Implement and report on ongoing cost‐saving measures and propose operational efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with client‑specified KPIs and quality system requirements.
- Motivate, supervise and discipline team members, establishing fair and equitable programs.
- Provide direction and support to Human Resources for hiring, training and professional development.
- Take overall responsibility for training and evaluating warehouse staff.
- Plan daily work schedules based on work orders, arrival notices and customer instructions.
- Review pending jobs and trends, reorganize warehouse space and adjust staffing or supplies as needed.
- Train new staff and monitor trainee progress, adding duties as appropriate.
- Maintain awareness of job volume and quality, providing guidance and advice as necessary.
- Assign supervisory duties to lead staff for lower‑level workers and report progress or issues to management.
- Assist in physical operations as required and deliver results by leveraging team strengths at optimal times.
- Maintain high motivation levels to deliver superior customer satisfaction.
- Provide growth and development opportunities, conduct performance reviews and support SOP adherence.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a logistics, distribution or related environment.
- At least 1 year supervisory experience.
- Preferred: MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operations.
- Completion of a forklift training program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with RF scanners.
- Knowledge of WMS functions.
- English – reading, writing, verbal.
- Business communication proficiency.
Basic to intermediate ability to verify product quantities, count inventory and perform related tasks.

Occasionally bend; frequently walk and stand; constantly sit as required. Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull 11–20 pounds and reach above shoulder, squat or kneel.
Work EnvironmentThe workplace is generally low to moderate in noise level and rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxins or caustic chemicals.
CompensationBase salary range: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year, determined by experience, skills and location.
