Warehouse Team Lead - E Shift (Hiring for 2 openings)

Schedule: Fri–Sun, 6:00pm–6:30am

Time Type: Hourly

Position Summary

The Team Lead coordinates and oversees daily operational activities for the warehousing, receiving, and shipping of products. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Lead is responsible for supervision of associates, ensuring performance, safety, and quality goals are met consistently with company service and cost objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Training Responsibilities
    • Mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities to meet customer demands.
    • Train associates on Standard Operating Procedures for shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
    • Assist in forklift operation and certification.
  • Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities
    • Oversee inbound shipment unloading, product stacking, and outbound picking/staging following productivity standards.
    • Verify paperwork with drivers and ensure accurate product counts.
    • Load orders efficiently and accurately according to doors and trailers.
    • Identify and research discrepancies in shipping and receiving processes.
  • Customer Service
    • Maintain a professional appearance and communication style.
    • Communicate with customers via phone, email, or in person as needed.
    • Prepare accurate activity reports for site management.
  • Quality Control Responsibilities
    • Use appropriate documentation to verify product and order accuracy.
    • Report damages or discrepancies, and handle packing, shrink‑wrapping, and labeling.
    • Participate in quality meetings and document non‑conformities to the Operations Supervisor.
  • Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
    • Execute all safety protocols and maintain warehouse cleanliness.
    • Adhere to ISO standards, OSHA/ MSDS guidelines, and corporate policies.
    • Attend safety meetings.
  • Labor Management
    • Direct warehouse work team to achieve productivity objectives.
    • Assist in capturing production and payroll hours and maintaining workforce levels.
    • Help establish work schedules and ensure effective assignment of tasks.
  • Responsibility and Authority
    • Participate in department meetings.
    • Initiate corrective actions for non‑conformities and recommend solutions through proper channels.
    • Escalate all non‑conformities to the Quality Department immediately.
  • Equipment Operation
    • Operate sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, Aisle Master, or pallet jack.
    • Maintain equipment upkeep and perform daily inspections and minor maintenance.
    • Maintain active forklift certification.
  • Maintenance
    • Assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, greeting visitors, and record keeping.
    • Will work evenings and weekends as needed and undertake overtime as directed by business needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year experience in a logistics/distribution environment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Ability to work in unregulated temperatures ranging from mild to moderate during warmer and colder months.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Computer Skills
    :
    Basic computer proficiency, RF scanners, WMS functions.
  • Language Skills
    :
    English (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Mathematical Skills
    :
    Basic to intermediate level for inventory counting and quantity verification.
  • Strong attention to detail and timely task completion.
  • Minimal supervision or guidance required.
  • Effective communication with all organizational levels.
  • Adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2–4 years’ experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
  • 2–4 years proven forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.
