Accountant, Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting

The Accountant will support financial reporting, cost analysis, budgeting, reconciliations, and land-related financial activities to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.

• Prepare house profit analyses and review gross profit margins for sales contracts and subdivisions.
• Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, invoice discrepancies, and posting errors, working with relevant departments to resolve issues.
• Perform monthly close procedures and ensure all deadlines are met.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Create and maintain land payment and budget tracking spreadsheets.
• Analyze financial data and monitor budgets related to land and lot acquisitions.
• Prepare and update land acquisition proformas, including LAPs, Forestar, and Financial Project System (FPS) proformas.
• Manage weekly funding requests and support land-related financial transactions.
• Post bank deposits and prepare cash receipt journals.
• Process property tax payments and monthly amortizations.
• Monitor fixed asset purchases, ensuring proper capitalization and depreciation.
• Prepare B&O excise tax returns, obtain necessary approvals, and submit through appropriate portals.
• Generate weekly and monthly financial reports, including sales, back charge, marketing, warranty expense, and production reports.
• Review SG&A expenses and ensure accurate coding.
• Verify employee expense reimbursements for accuracy and proper documentation.
• Assist with due diligence reconciliation and review.
• Reconcile real estate tax spreadsheets and track city license expirations and renewals.
• Review HOA financials and maintain sales tax rate sheets.
• Prepare BRWs and upload supporting documentation as required.
• Assist vendors with questions related to financial processes and transaction reconciliations.
• Support additional accounting, budgeting, and land development activities as needed.

• 0-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with an interest in financial analysis and reporting.
• Experience or familiarity with account reconciliations, budgeting, cost analysis, or financial reporting.
• Knowledge of construction, residential development, or land acquisition financial practices is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and vendors.

• Salary: $60,000-$85,000 (depending on experience)
