Financial SpecialistThe Financial Specialist is expected to organize time and structures to support FSMA. The primary functions include payroll/time reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, centralized ordering and supporting the Administrative team. Additionally, this position will support Human Resources. This position supports the entire staff at FSMA and must possess a strong sense of confidentiality, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Reports to: Supervisor of Operations and School Programs and Principal
Terms of Employment: 12-month Position
Salary: Commensurate with degree level and experience
Minimum Qualifications- Associate Degree or 60+ college credits in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business (or equivalent related work experience). Preferably a BS in Accounting/Economics/Business or a related field of study.
- Minimum of three or more years of professional office/business administration experience. Prior work experience in payroll, AR/AP, and Human Resources preferred.
- Strong level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and school specific systems.
- Experience in FSF, PHRST and student database preferred.
- Excellent work ethic and demonstrated ability to take initiative, work collaboratively, follow through on tasks and maintain confidentiality. Excellent organizational, communications and interpersonal skills.
- Process payroll for FSMA including but not limited to extra pay, stipend payments, leave adjustments, docked pay and hiring/resignation adjustments.
- Process and reconcile all accounts receivable including but not limited to cash deposits, check deposits, credit card deposits and intergovernmental transfers on a daily basis.
- Process and verify all accounts payable via the state’s accounting system. Ensure that all invoices received are valid and approved and services have been rendered or materials have been received to the school’s satisfaction.
- Provide centralized ordering and purchasing for FSMA. Ensure that quotes and price comparisons are completed regarding orders submitted to the Finance Department.
- Support Human Resources as required. Functions include hiring, resignations, benefits enrollment, workmen’s compensation, short term disability, long term disability, and various leave programs and policies.
- Maintain organized files for all work types listed above – payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, centralized ordering and Human Resources.
- Attend state level meetings as necessary.
- Support all Finance department audits.
- Support Administrative Offices: answering phones, scheduling meetings, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
