Role DescriptionThe Property Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in St. Louis, MO, responsible for the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets.
- Monthly financial statement preparation and reporting, including variance analysis
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable review, understanding, trouble shooting, invoice approval
- Journal entry preparation
- Annual tenant reconciliation billings
- Debt compliance and reporting
- Monthly construction draws for development projects
- Bank reconcilations
- Work with outside CPA firms and auditors
- Direct Interaction with upper management, tenants, lenders, and investors, including investor statement calculations
- Other projects as assigned
- Candidates should possess strong accounting and finance skills, with a solid understanding of real estate or property-level accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (CPA or similar) is a plus.
- GAAP accounting experience required.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with real estate or property management systems is beneficial.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
