Job Summary

The Optometry Data & Reporting Analyst provides comprehensive analytical, reporting, and operational support to the College of Optometry. The role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional, accreditation, assessment, and outcomes data; supports strategic decision‑making by college leadership; and maintains data integrity across student, faculty, residency, alumni, and programmatic processes. This position also serves as a key resource for survey administration, technology coordination, and cross‑functional reporting requirements at the campus, system, and national accreditation levels.

Primary

Responsibilities

Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting – 60%

Collects, analyzes, validates, and reports complex and sensitive data sets for internal leadership, campus partners, and national governing and accrediting bodies, including ASCO, ACOE, residency programs, admissions, and national board reporting. Produces regular and ad‑hoc analytical reports supporting accreditation, assessment, strategic planning, admissions analysis, faculty promotion, and program review. Translates data into actionable insights to support leadership decision‑making. Maintains historical databases and longitudinal datasets to support trend analysis, research, and compliance reporting.

Reconciles and tracks national board examination data to ensure completeness and compliance with graduation and external reporting requirements. Provides administrative support to the Associate Dean of Academic Programs on various initiatives and projects.

Survey Administration & Outcomes Assessment – 20%

Builds, administers, monitors, and reports on surveys and evaluations, including course evaluations, residency evaluations, alumni surveys, end‑of‑program evaluations, continuing education evaluations, and specialized questionnaires. Prepares longitudinal analysis of survey data to support faculty review, promotion, accreditation, and continuous improvement efforts. Implements process improvements related to evaluation administration and data reporting.

Administrative & Dean’s Suite Support – 20%

Provides front‑line administrative support to the Dean’s Suite, including responding to inquiries and assisting visitors as needed. Coordinates bulletin updates, handbook revisions, and official documentation to ensure accuracy, version control, and compliance with campus timelines. Serves as liaison with Information Technology and vendors for computer, telephone, and data system needs within the College of Optometry. Builds and maintains electronic forms and workflows (e.g., evaluations, agreements, data collection forms) used across academic and administrative functions.

Supports special projects and cross‑functional initiatives as assigned by college leadership.

As with all positions, may perform other job‑related responsibilities as needed to support departmental and campus‑wide needs.

Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular interaction with faculty, staff, and external partners. The role requires regular use of computers. The position involves sustained attention to detail and accuracy, ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, independent problem‑solving and decision‑making in a data‑intensive environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

May provide functional guidance to office support staff related to data processes and reporting methods; no documented administrative supervision.

Shift

40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
