Job DescriptionWe are seeking a full‑time Assistant Professor of Elementary Literacy Education in the College of Education at UM St. Louis. The candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in sociolinguistics and communication in the classroom, including Cross‑Cultural Communication in the Classroom, Literacy for Adolescent Learners in Content Areas, and related courses. Duties also include conducting research in these areas and other scholarly duties as assigned by the Department.
Responsibilities- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the specified areas.
- Conduct research in literacy education, sociolinguistics, and communication in the classroom.
- Engage in other scholarly duties assigned by the Department.
- PhD or EdD in Literacy Education, Elementary Education, or a closely related field.
- Teaching and research experience in sociolinguistics and communication in the classroom.
- Demonstrated ability to support students from diverse and non‑traditional backgrounds.
