Overview
This position will be assigned to work in the Transportation and Public Works Code Enforcement Division in Clayton, Missouri. The Project Manager is responsible for performing electrical plan reviews of construction plans and calculations submitted under applications for electrical permits, ensuring compliance with Electrical Codes and other County regulations.
The role will be filled at the I, II, or III level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Typical starting salaries are as follows based on level and experience:
- Project Manager I: $61,193.60
- Project Manager II: $65,790.40
- Project Manager III: $70,720.00

- Review and analyze plans and calculations for compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code)
- Identify discrepancies and provide technical assistance to arrive at acceptable design solutions
- Determine appropriate action for revisions when necessary
- Assist and provide information to the general public and various agencies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- College senior in an accredited Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering (degree must be conferred before the start date) or a graduate of such a program.
- Preference may be given to applicants with related experience, knowledge of construction codes, a professional license, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Must meet All Project Manager I requirements.
- Either completed an Engineer‑In‑Training Certificate from the Missouri Board of Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors (via passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) or an Electrical Plans Examiner Certificate from the International Code Council or an equivalent third‑party certification.
- Must meet All Project Manager I and II requirements.
- Registered Professional Engineer by the Missouri Board of Engineers.
- Five years of practical experience.
