Job Overview
Responsible for the origination of regulatory compliant residential loan applications and for developing client referral relationships with realtors, builders, attorneys and other centers of influence.
Job Accountabilities- Follow up on leads generated by personal effort, regular contact from within the industry, call‑in/walk‑in inquiries, and support enhancements from bank advertising and direct mail efforts.
- Conduct regulatory‑compliant loan pre‑qualification interviews; explain and recommend the most appropriate available loan programs; maintain a file of loan leads that do not immediately result in a formal application; follow up on leads regularly until they apply for a loan with the Bank, another lender, or withdraw from the mortgage market.
- Accept regulatory‑compliant residential mortgage loan applications from customers; review applications for compliance with bank, industry, and agency guidelines; notify applicants who do not qualify in a timely manner; begin processing of qualified applications as quickly as possible; monitor the processing of the loan in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
- Actively solicit and originate mortgage loan programs to all prospective borrowers, including in low‑ to moderate‑income areas; serve as liaison to local, state, and federal government agencies and not‑for‑profit community development groups.
- Identify needs and cross‑sell other bank products and services to established cross‑sale targets, including checking accounts, savings accounts, home equity loans/lines, mortgage life and disability insurance; refer customers to business partners within and across line of business who can best meet those needs.
- Promote the bank’s loan programs in the community through regular contact with real estate agents, builders, attorneys, and other centers of influence.
- Prepare records and reports as requested regarding loan solicitation, origination, and closing activities.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1‑3 years residential loan processing or origination with a financial institution or mortgage banking company

$17.00 - $25.85 per hour (total compensation may include incentive, commission or bonus opportunities not reflected in the posted base pay range).
