Starting at $75,295. Salary is based on qualifications and internal equity.

- Patrol the city, respond to service requests, enforce laws and ordinances, issue citations, and make arrests
- Operate patrol vehicles, observe for violations, suspicious activities, and disturbances
- Provide police escorts, direct traffic, and conduct residential and commercial checks
- Perform First Aid, CPR, Narcan administration, and AED use as needed
- Investigate traffic accidents and crimes, develop suspects, and bring cases to closure
- Assist with criminal investigations, stakeouts, evidence presentation, and interviewing victims/witnesses
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records
- Participate in and conduct in-service training programs
- Serve in specialized roles such as Community Service Officer, School Resource Officer, Drug Task Force Officer, and more
- Respond to emergencies, including occasional overtime or on-call needs
No two days are exactly alike-you may patrol neighborhoods in the morning, assist with an investigation in the afternoon, and help with community outreach before heading home.
Required Qualifications- At least 21 years of age by date of appointment
- Missouri POST Class A Peace Officer certification (or eligibility for out-of-state/military equivalency)
- U.S. citizenship or as required by Missouri POST license
- Valid high school diploma or equivalent
- No felony record or convictions related to domestic violence; no pending indictments; no recent DWI or hazardous driving violations
- Valid Missouri driver's license (minimum Class "F") with a clean driving record
- Meet all physical and psychological requirements, including annual fitness test
- Knowledge of police operations, patrol procedures, investigative techniques, and relevant laws
- Ability to communicate effectively, prepare clear reports, and carry out instructions
- Strong judgment, quick decision-making, and courteous but firm public interaction
- Skill in firearms and motor vehicle operation
- Good physical condition and ability to meet demanding physical requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion

- Variable 12-hr shifts; including nights, weekends, and holidays
